    I just got involved with a new project – BEFORE: Action to Prevent Political Violence (hyperlink to www.beforeproject.org). It’s this exciting and new way to prevent wars and situations like Darfur, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka BEFORE they start.

    Today 2,000 people around the world will die because of armed conflict.

    BEFORE monitors early warning information on violent conflicts and war, then sends peacebuilding and conflict prevention teams into countries on the verge of large-scale violence. In Guinea-Bissau they are making progress toward helping local people stabilize their country.
