September Edition of Conflict and Peace Monitoring Survey
In September 2010 more than 60 experts from governmental, intergovernmental, academic and non-governmental organizations filled in the second questionnaire of the Conflict and Peace Monitoring Survey for West Africa. The results of September 2010 reveal, as in the previous questionnaire, that several countries rank relatively high regarding the overall presence of violence while some countries’ overall situation is ranked as a relatively stable peace. Furthermore, it is interesting to note that there are regional differences within each country and that several experts marked the then upcoming elections in different countries as a possible factor of instability in the region.
